Built completely from old growth redwood, no longer available, the proud craftsmanship of yesteryear is evident in the detail rich exterior moldings and trim. Likewise the classic proportions of 19 century Italianate victorian architecture no longer conforms with coastal commision building guidelines and cannot be replicated. This house was built less than four years after the completion of the transcontinental railroad in 1869.
